NASA has finally released a new batch of images obtained by the sondaNew Horizons Pluto’s surface, but this time have something special. These are the most detailed images that exist, and we will not get new up within several decades.
And there is currently no other mission en route to overfly the orbit of Pluto, so the pictures you see Below are the closest and detailed that icy surface full of craters and mountains.
The photos were taken when the probe passed within 17,000 kilometers of the surface of Pluto, and with them the NASA created a brilliant video that unites them as a sequence:
Although during the last September could see a series of photos of high quality, actually it was compressed images. For the New Horizon could download enough data to transfer uncompressed images had to spend a year, and the result is amazing.
The mountains are cassia perfection, and its icy surface textures, and many more details are included in these photos. Simply, we had never seen so close to Pluto, and no more will approach a long time. [Via NASA]
