Samsung will pay US $ 548 mlls. Apple for violating patents | Peru Trade – Trade

After nearly five years of litigation, Samsung will pay $ 548 million for violating patents for Apple , to include some if STEMAS of this company in its smartphones, according to a joint statement from both companies.

The lawsuit was filed by the company on the block in 2011. In 2012 A court ruled in favor of Apple , since apparently Samsung had itself violated the company’s patents for functions such as tap-to-zoom and multitouch gestures.

At first, Apple asked 2,500 million dollars in damages, but a court ruled that the sum would be only 1,000 million. Eventually, after several appeals from both sides, the figure was first reduced to $ 930 million and then to 548 million in May this year.

However, Samsung has requested a review of his case by the section US Supreme, causing the trial to be lengthened if they accept the revision.
