How laughter spread? – TN.com.ar

How better to spread a smile! A smile can generate in others the urge to smile, but beware that the same applies to a frown.

It is the instinct of facial imitation which allows humans to empathize , say Adrienne Wood and Paula Niedenthal, social psychologists at the University of Wisconsin, USA, have investigated how this is processed in the brain.

Now How can a person recognize what he feels another just by observing their facial expression? , psychologists questioned. It is that when we see the expression of someone’s face interpret its meaning because associate the gesture to a particular emotion in the past have expressed ourselves .

The process is to see facial expression and imitate. This is what we usually do, even unconsciously, and is how we extract the emotional meaning of what we see in a matter of milliseconds.

“This kind of imaginary reflection of the face of the other person tells the brain how to feel at that particular facial expression. It happens automatically and unconsciously, so we have the impression of being able to ‘read’ your mind and know how you feel , “said Wood.

This explanation of how the brain perceives and processes gestures that give psychologists is based on the integration of the latest psychological research (including its own) and evidence for sensorimotor stimulation.

According to them, understand this process could improve treatment related to the recognition of emotions, such as autism spectrum disorders. in turn, the system of identification of emotions can help predict future behavior or feelings , although it would still be a game of prediction, since in any case we can know for sure how often expressed or what another person feels just by looking.
