global tablet sales increased in the first quarter of 2013 by 142.4%, with sales reaching 49.2 million units in the first three months of 2013, according to research firm IDC market. The figure surpassed the first full semester of 2012 and was driven by strong demand for small screen devices such as the iPad Mini and Google Nexus 7.
