Return to Earth three astronauts who spent 199 days in the … – El Universal (Venezuela)

Dzhezkazgan, Kazajistán.- Three astronauts were 199 days on the International Space Station (ISS) landed safely in Kazakhstan after going into orbit longer than expected.

Terry Virts astronaut Aerospace Agency (NASA), Samantha Cristoforetti of the European Space Agency (ESA) and Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov returned to Earth after spending 199 days on the International Space Station, nearly a month later than originally planned

, mentioned AP.

Because of the delay in his return, the Italian Cristoforetti, set a record by being the woman who has spent more time in space continuously for several days beating the record set by NASA astronaut in 2007.

The Soyuz capsule which traveled landed on Thursday as scheduled about 145 kilometers southeast of Dzhezkazgan, in what NASA commentator described as a perfect landing.

After the slow descent under a parachute with slots white and red, the capsule landed smoothly on the sunny steppes. Russian helicopters circled the area quickly and deployed search and rescue personnel to help astronauts leave the capsule and revise your health.

Smiling astronauts sat in reclining chairs, adapting to the conditions on Earth after several months without gravity, while talking to doctors and space officials. Then transferred to inflatable tents to begin initial medical checkups.

“I feel good. I feel great,” Virts said.

Following the review, the crew was taken by helicopter to the city of Karaganda, where they boarded flights back home.

The mission lasted longer because of a failure launch of a Russian cargo ship in April.

The Soyuz rocket that failed in April used to launch vessels carrying a crew so that Russian authorities delayed the return of the crew and more pitches while doing an investigation.

A rocket successfully launched satellite last week and is expected to split a new crew to the station in July.

The new crew will join Russian Gennady Padalka and Mikhail Kornienko, and American NASA Scott Kelly, who remained in orbit. Kelly and Kornienko are on a space mission for one year.
