New images reveal two distinct faces Pluto – Azteca News

Washington, EUA.- New images High Resolution Pluto and its largest moon Charon, captured by the space probe New Horizons, show two different faces of the dwarf planet four uniform dark spots along its Ecuador.

The mysterious stains have aroused the curiosity of researchers from the mission, but hardly can get many of them as data for its location in the Plutoid, New Horizons will not see during their approach to Pluto, the July 14.

The new color- -a images are sharper thanks to the growing closeness of the NASA probe with small star, towards which it is directed at a speed of 32 000 kilometers per hour.

In the photos, two different hemispheres and on one side four dark spots uniform in size-estimated at some 500 kilometers in diameter and the distance between them, distributed in two thousand 300 kilometers seen it Throughout its Ecuador.

The scientists combined the high-resolution images captured by Lori, the camera “black and white” of the probe, and its color player known as Ralph for the new photographs, clearly show the different hue of Pluto and Charon.

The images intrigued experts for the difference in color and appearance of Pluto compared with a darker gray Charon due it is believed that both are the product of a collision early in the solar system and hoped that were more similar.

The four large patches also troubled researchers and although its location in the dwarf planet New Horizons prevent the note when flying Pluto , trust have ample opportunity to study them in the days before the historic meeting.
