NASA released an image of an object located JR1- 1994, officially 5.310 million kilometers from the Sun that was captured by the New Horizons probe on November 2. Scientists say that the object is an ancient celestial body 150 kilometers wide.

The animated image is considered the most clear and precise of a small object in the Kuiper Belt, which represents a set of bodies kite of different colors. The US probe has set a record. Scientists intend to use the recent images to study in detail celestial bodies in the Kuiper Belt if new missions are approved.

The New Horizons probe departed Pluto on July 14 last and made the first observations of Pluto five moons that surround it. Thanks to the mission, scientists have obtained 3D maps of Pluto’s surface and discovered the presence of two frozen mountain formations that could be key to understanding the geological evolution of the planet and atmospheric
