The Dutch Police, in collaboration with Dutch counterterrorism agency (NCTB) and the ministries of justice and defense of the country, train eagles to be capable of intercepting drones, or unmanned aircraft that can generate security incidents or used by criminals or terrorists.
The police found in a statement that in the future these devices will be used more and more, so it will also increase the number of incidents.

The initiative, described by police as “a pioneer in the world”, aims to prepare these birds so they can bring down drones, without involving an environmental impact.
This initiative is still undergoing testing, but according to project spokesman Marc Wiebes, there are “very real possibility” that Eagles befor using drones to intercept criminals.
“Everyone can have a drone, and this includes people who want to misuse them,” said police spokesman Michel Baeten, noting that the Eagles are “a multifunctional piece of equipment, which means that you can also organize an attack with them.”
