Draconids shower peaks at night on Tuesday, but experts have pointed out that, coinciding with full moon , your visibility will be reduced. The meteor shower will also see for the next two nights.
meteors Draconids are among the slowest of few showers there . Walking 20 miles a second, while in other rains, its meteors do more than 70 kilometers per second. That is, most of the meteors from other showers are barely noticeable, just a line in a split second, but the Draconids, glide through the sky gently, unhurriedly.
ORIGINS
Its origin is the comet 21P / Giacobini-Zinner , discovered on December 20, 1900 at the Observatory of Nice in France. This is a periodic comet, which orbits the Sun every 6.621 years. Every two revolutions around the Sun, the comet approaches the Earth and is observable, although round magnitude 9, that is, you have to use at least a small telescope to see it.
Goes into orbit Earth, Mars and its point of maximum departure is in Jupiter’s orbit. In fact, the severity of giant Jupiter is affecting the comet’s orbit, so that the distance that passes near the sun, shortens and lengthens continuously.
The Astronomical Association of Spain suggests that this phenomenon is best seen in early hours of the night and you have to get away from the lights of cities and towns. It also explains that the best way to watch is lying on a folding chair.
