The Universitat Jaume I has completed the installation of three magnetic induction loops that allow people with disabilities to participate auditory sensory in various educational and cultural activities that take place in lecture halls and function rooms of different centers.

These loops allow the monitoring of activities (conferences, congresses, seminars, etc.) for people with hearing loss carriers cochlear implants and hearing aids. These headphones have a coil that magnetic field transforms back into sound within the ear, isolated from ambient noise and reverberation. Through it, the user receives a crisp, clean sound. With the launch of the loop in the auditorium UJI became the first cultural center of Valencia with this technology consisting of an amplifier PLS 700 and a perimeter induction wiring enclosure, placed on the base. This allows the perception of sound through the same headset user.
This action is part of the Program for diversity of Educational Support Unit (USE), and has enjoyed the cooperation of the Technical Office Works and Projects. Under the program, two facilities have been funded by the Vodafone Spain Foundation through an agreement signed with the UJI on accessibility; and the third installment was funded by the University, added from Jaume I. Remember that the Universitat Jaume I was one of the first universities to explicitly express in their statutes institutional commitment to the community of people with disabilities and special educational needs.
This commitment runs, highlighted from the University, from the Program for Diversity, which currently works with over 350 students with various disabilities (being the majority type of physical disability, followed by chronic diseases and visual and auditory) sensory disabilities, their teachers (approximately 550), responsible for secondary education Castelló and more than 3,000 people annually participate in various awareness-raising programs disabilities.
