What’s new Huawei bring new P8 and P8 Max? – Terra Colombia

LONDON – Huawei has a new flagship phone to brag and is called P8. The P7 and P8 replaces the Android Lollipop comes with full HD and 5.2-inch screen in a full metal body with an 8 megapixel camera front and rear of 13 megapixels.

The company also announced a larger version of the phone call P8 Max. Very similar to P8, provides a larger battery and more spacious screen.

These specifications will not steal the Galaxy S6 sleep Edge, with its excellent screen resolution and its curved sides, but the P8 cost much less.

The P8 costs from 499 euros, or $ 530. The P8 Max starts at 549 euros, or $ 584. That makes both are significantly more affordable than the Galaxy S6 Edge .

The P8 and P8 Max will go on sale in Europe this month, but for now there are no plans to release it in the United States. Huawei said it will launch in the coming months in the US A “variant” that “takes a lot borrowed from P8″ but no further details were given of this phone, including the name.

Design and Display

Huawei has opted for an all-metal body hugging the edges of the phone until you find the screen. This one-piece body helps you feel very solid and secure in the hand. It is a good looking phone – the metal and angles remind a little Sony Xperia Z3, although the Japanese phone has a more attractive rear glass, in my opinion. Huawei phone will come in three colors: black, silver and gold.

The entrance of the headphones is located on the top of the phone, while the micro-USB port is on the base, between two holes for the speakers. The back is not removable, but the two slots for micro-SIMs (yes, two) and the entrance to the microSD card on the sides of the phone. Speaking of storage, you get 32GB of integrated storage – very decent – but the phone can be expanded to 128GB of space with microSD cards.

With a 5.2 inch screen framed by the metal body, the phone is not particularly small, but its thin bezel around the screen helps your size is not too expand. It is comfortable to hold with one hand and unlock it, but you’ll need two thumbs to write properly. Like the previous Ascend Ascend P6 and P7, P8 is very thin, although metal design makes it feel less fragile than its predecessors, which had glass. The P8 Max looks like his brother, but is larger thanks to its 6.8-inch screen. Huawei Ascend removed the word on these devices.

The screen has a full HD resolution (1,920×1,080 pixels), which gives a pixel density of 424ppp. That is below the impressive 577ppp the Galaxy S6, but the P8 costs much less. A full HD display is enough to display text and icons with very satisfactory clarity but also seemed too bright and vivid in my hands. I’ll wait to give my final verdict on the screen in the full analysis, but so far found nothing major to complain.

Software and processor

The P8 comes with the latest operating system from Google, Android Lollipop, on which Huawei has placed its interface Emotion UI. The interface changes the color scheme, fonts and icons for apps, among other things. Even eliminates the apps tray, which means that your installed apps will be scattered across multiple displays. Personally, I do not like this, but the iPhone does not have a tray of apps, so obviously not a problem for everyone.

Although you have the latest version of Huawei skin, no important functions of this software worth mentioning. If you have used the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 you not carry any surprises. There were some improvements in connectivity, as Huawei, will help your phone to connect faster to the cellular network when you turn it on.

Under the hood is powered by an eight-core processor and 64-bit Kirin 930, which on paper reads powerful enough for all your daily activities. During the time I spent with him, the Android interface worked smoothly without lags. Playing in the full analysis see how it compares to the powerful Galaxy S6 and how it reacts to the demands of a game, for example.

Camera and Battery

The phone has two cameras: a 13-megapixel in the back and a generous 8 megapixel camera forward to your selfies – both manufactured by Sony. Huawei says that the camera uses several sensors to analyze the light to take brighter pictures in low light, with very little visual noise. Many phones say they have functions for low light, but few really running well, so I’ll talk more from the camera when you can test it thoroughly.

The phone battery is 2,600mAh, which is a decent size. In fact, Huawei says you can take a day of use, if not more. Again, that’s something I’ll have to test, but if he can give me a whole day and leave enough energy to listen to music on my return home, I’m content with that. If you need more power, 4,360mAh battery in P8 Max promises 15 hours of video playback.

Outlook

No significant updates the screen or the software, the P8 is rather an evolution over its predecessors, but not a revolution. Still, the metal body feels good to the touch and improvements to the camera sound very interesting. But the major point in its favor is its price.
