Samsung and Apple in smartphone sales fall – LaRepública.pe

According to the latest study by the International Data Corporation (IDC), the sales figures of smartphones that Samsung and Apple reached in the first quarter of 2016 reflect a drop compared to the same period in 2015.

Thus Samsung left the 82 million 400 thousand in 2015 to back the 81 million 900 thousand in 2016. In the case of Apple’s sales in 2015 were 61 million 200 thousand in 2015 while in 2016 they were 51 million 200 thousand smartphones, so it is the only and strongest among manufacturers of smartphones that occupy the first five places.

While the figures for Q1 are preliminary and subject to change, these results confirm a trend, because in the latest report from IDC in 2015 Samsung and Apple sold 85 million 6000 and 74 million 8000 smartphones respectively.

 Huawei sales grew

Chinese company Huawei is the brand that recorded strong growth in this ranking.

Thus, in the first quarter of 2016 it amounted to 27 million 500 thousand, a figure considerably higher than the 17 million 400 thousand in the same period of 2015.

The report also details that only in the first four months of 2016 the manufacturers of smartphones have sold over 334 million units. This figure is even higher at 334 million 3000 smartphones sold during the same period in 2015.

Samsung, Apple and Huawei in that order were the three companies had the largest share of market sales.

The survey also reveals that Xiamoi and Lenovo brands have been displaced by OPPO ranking companies and Vivo, both Chinese manufacturers.

This change also caused surprise, since Xiaomi was placed as a manufacturer who gambled on a good product at low cost.

The figures suggest that the two Chinese companies soon colonize other markets.
