MEXICO CITY., May 9, 2016.- Researchers from the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC), in Spain, discovered an intense wind in the vicinity of V404 Cygni black hole, which erupted in 2015 after more than 25 years of inactivity.
the observations were made with the OSIRIS instrument of the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC) located at the Observatory Roque de los Muchachos on the island of La Palma (archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean), and the results of this work were published Monday in the journal Nature, according to El Universal.
V404 Cygni is a black hole that is part of a binary system located in the constellation Cygnus, said in a statement the IAC, which explains what a black hole about 10 times the Sun’s mass, devouring material from a star very close.
