Next b, the exoplanet potentially habitable could be covered in oceans – Radio Capital 96.7

Scientists presented two hypotheses about the composition of the planet that was recently discovered.

The exoplanet Next b that could be visited soon, you could be covered in oceans. According to published RT, this planet located in the habitable zone of proxima Centauri (the closest star to the sun) this has baffled scientists who don’t decide if these are good or bad news.

Location. according to the research Institute of the CNRS of France, and the extrasolar planet is located in an orbit that allows it to have a mass similar to that of the Earth, which makes it likely its population however this discovery might reveal that the planet is really a ocean giant.

Composition. scientists have two theories based on the maximum and minimum of the radius of the planet. In the first place, they propose that the planet is very dense, much as Mercury, and that its surface aqueous do not cover more than 5% of its total mass or, in any case, Next to b would be composed of 50% water and also rocks and would be covered by an ocean 200 km depth.

Theory. however the experts argued that in case the second scenario is the true one, not all the hopes of inhabiting the planet are lost. "In these extreme cases a light coat of gas could cover the planet, like the Earth, which would be at the Next b potentially habitable".

Studies. The discovery of this planet was announced a little over a month and the scientists described him as one of the most likely to allow life for their conditions. However, we must perform more studies to determine if it would be possible to live in.
