Galaxy S6 demand Edge, which has a screen that folds for both sides, probably outstrip supply as the company works to make enough flexible displays, said co-CEO, Shin Jong Kyun. The other model has a traditional flat screen and cost less.
Optimism for the new high-end devices fed up of Samsung shares as investors expect that the new designs draw the attention of consumers and using its own processor and modern chips from Samsung boost margins profits from the components.
The new phones were launched in 20 countries including the US, the UK and Germany, while sales in China will begin on April 17th.
“The S6 is the best phone manufactured by Samsung in terms of design or specifications,” said Keon Han Credit Suisse Group AG in Seoul, one of the best rated analysts who follow the action from Samsung. “The market, traders and consumers to agree that the new phone from Samsung is different from previous models.”

Analysts improved earnings outlook for the three months ending in June and forecast that Samsung will shed its first profit increase in seven quarters. Samsung developed the design of the S6 and used more parties themselves to convince rival smartphone makers buy their chips and screens, analysts said.
The new S6 models have 5.1-inch screens, which are among the screen size of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
“We expect Samsung to regain its position as the No. 1 seller of smartphones in the world by volume,” said Neil Mawston, executive director at Strategy Analytics. “Samsung did a great job in recovering from his failed launch of S5 2014″.
For new devices, Samsung chose metal housings, finally catching up with the premium design used by Apple and other high-end producers.
