It will be starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, and according to Ubisoft , the story will not be based on any of the stories visited on one of the many video games series.

Assassin’s Creed will be starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, and according to Ubisoft , the story will not be based on any of the stories visited in any of the many games of the series; on the contrary, the film will take place in Spain in the fifteenth century, a new place for the property.

For the uninitiated, the plot of Assassin’s Creed a new technology involves the ability to reveal the genetic memory of an individual with a detailed precision scary; almost like watching a movie through the eyes of your ancestors. In this case, it is the memories of Callum Lynch (Fassbender) and his Spanish ancestry, Aguilar, part of a secret society of murderers.

The choice of the island was no coincidence, since Malta has been the shooting location for films other type of Troy (2004), Gladiator ( 2000), Captain Phillips (2013), and some other minor. The Commissioner of Film of Malta, Engelbert Grech, released the following statement on the matter: “Malta has become a key film location Assassin’s Creed chose Malta after a discussion with the Commission of Film Malta. and will benefit from production incentives to film here. “

Assassin’s Creed will be released on December 21, 2016. A movie based on video games have not fared best this year, and coming near the end of the next, it is difficult whether it be the film to break the losing streak of its kind (commercial and critically).
