PC sales slump for the fourth consecutive year – Hypertext

The latest report from IDC on the PC industry, and sales, continues to confirm that the decline of PC is inevitable, where the five largest vendors continue to sell more and more of the pie. In this case the fee increases to a record 71% of all PCs produced. The market is primed with the weakest manufacturers as Fujitsu or Sony, which abandoned the fight.

The causes are known for years , each time the computers last longer without be updated, and people do not use much, or not due to the USA- tablets and mainly smartphones.

In the words of Jay Chou, head of market research for IDC PC: “While portable and desktop computers see their cycles of use are becoming more long, the arrival of Apple to the Top 5 global PC sales in 2015 shows that there is strong demand for innovative systems that puts the user experience, even at high prices. “

No manufacturer is saved. All sales are down, but there is hope in 2016 with the convertible notebook is something we should all begin to understand. The market is still huge with 276 million made in 2015, down from 308 million last year, down 11%. Equivalent to a manufacturer like Dell disappeared from the market are bad figures. No manufacturer is saved, and all have made less than last year , which did not occur during 2014 as HP, Dell, Lenovo and Apple showed growth figures even though the overall market was down.

But there is hope in a sense. The convertible notebook, or 2-in-1, are growing but still form a small part of the market . 2016 will be key in this regard, with projections for the general market they can get, among other reasons, if Microsoft and Intel convince consumers and businesses the benefits of acquiring new machines with Windows 10 and Skylake.
