Caracas, June 14, 2015 .- The Philae module sent by the spacecraft Rosetta to the surface of the comet 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko has reissued signal after staying almost seven months in silence. The European Space Agency have confirmed that have re-established contact with the device.
The Rosetta probe has received a short beep that lasted 40 seconds , reported the France Info radio referring to its sources in the National Center of Space Studies of France.
In this way module gets its activity after a lethargy that was due to the depletion of its battery and its long stay in the shade. That may indicate that the batteries have been reactivated and that the apparatus has able to resist the climatic and environmental conditions.
In November 2014, the Philae module seceded from Rosetta to perform the landing in the comet’s nucleus Churiúmov-Gerasimenko, the first to the history of exploration of cosmos. Before entering lethargy apparatus emitted signals during only three days. / CLAA.
