USA, 24/08/2015 (The People’s Daily Online) -. The Hubble Space Telescope has obtained a beautiful picture of the massive star WR 124 surrounded by a cloud of ejected material called M1-67.
The M1-67 is located at a distance of 15,000 years Earth light and, according to estimates by scientists, has more than 10,000 years old, which makes it a baby in astronomical terms, writes the news portal Sci-News.
The massive star WR 124 in turn belongs to Wolf-Rayet (WR), characterized by being hot (50,000 degrees Kelvin) massive stellar bodies (with more than 20-30 solar masses) that have a short life due to fierce mass loss they experience.
