SAN FRANCISCO. Lovers of action games are running in record numbers to radioactive wastes of newly released mega-hit “Fallout 4″.
Bethesda Softworks announced Friday that sent 12 million copies of the hit game, representing more than 750 million dollars in sales, to meet the demand of the day release.
The latest installment of the franchise idolized has won praise from critics and has sold like hotcakes since its world premiere on November 10. The company said the new game “is generating record sales in physical stores and digital downloads.”
The fans waited five years to have this new installment known for its characteristic mix of music, humor and action a post nuclear environment.
The president of Bethesda Softworks, Vlatko Andonov , described Fallout 4 as “a masterpiece in the development and storytelling video games that provides hundreds of fans hours of fun as they explore and are challenged in this fascinating world and beautifully designed “.
The game opens with scenes showing a young family in an environment that mixes United States from the 1950s to the future. Then nuclear explosions send people looking for shelter and the main character becomes the only survivor, emerging two decades after the devastation.
The main mission is to search for the mother or father (as the character chosen by the player) of a stolen child in a shelter.
Fallout 4 jumped to first place in the digital shop Steam games, scoring a record with over 470,000 simultaneous players, Bethesda, part ZeniMax Media, based in Maryland said.
