The New Zealand Government is negotiating with Domino’s Pizza to make at home testing autonomous vehicles that this chain has developed for make pizza delivery at home, officials said.
These vehicles, called DRU, have compartments for pizzas and drinks, and use GPS to navigate the city and reach the destinations of the customers at a maximum speed of 18 kilometers per hour.
the oceanic country has been one of the first considered by the company to test prototypes of these robotic units.
the New Zealand minister Transport, Simon Bridges, stressed in a statement that the choice of New Zealand “shows that we have the right framework to attract innovations”.

Bridges said that the current laws and regulatory frameworks make New Zealand an “ideal environment” for testing all kinds of technologies.

Domino’s, which has conducted tests in Australia in a semi-autonomous, also hopes to start using these vehicles in Brisbane, meanwhile reported the newspaper “the Australian”.
