Computers are becoming more flexible, but their traditional keyboards limit the space in which we can work and make them less portable.
Lenovo recognizes this and therefore created the Yoga Book, a hybrid device which can function as a kind of computer or as a digital notebook.
the Lenovo Yoga Book is the traditional form of a computer (two pieces joined by a hinge in the middle), but one of them is a Full HD 10.1-inch screen, and the other part, which usually expect to find a keyboard, is a dark surface that transforms into keyboard or touchpad.
in keyboard mode, the keys light and the touchpad can recognize your writing and movements, but does not give you that feeling of depth that generally offer mechanical keyboards; but at least this keyboard offers a tactile feedback when you press each key.
Lenovo calls this keyboard Halo Keyboard, which in a way functions as if it were a touch screen, but also has a touchpad that responds normally.
During the time I had to test the Lenovo Yoga Book confess I was very strange to write about this kind of touch pad. However, I think everything is a matter of habit and eventually should become more natural. However, I do not think I would come to feel totally comfortable with this kind of keyboard.
in addition, the response from my click of a letter and the time displayed no it was completely fluid, but it is worth to note that the unit I tested was not a final version.
on the other hand, in the other mode of “book” the Lenovo Yoga Book functions as a tablet Wacom technology that allows you to write naturally using a stylus that looks, feels and works like a traditional pen (later more about this).
This feature is very useful for those who want to digitally draw in great detail or simply to annotate documents. in general, this function should work with programs or popular apps, including Photoshop.
this mode can be exchanged by simply pressing a button on the top, so it’s really simple.
On the other hand, the Lenovo Yoga Book also lets you scan what you write by hand. this device Lenovo includes a book of real paper and ink cartridges can be installed in the stylus of Yoga Book (why this stylus not only feels and looks, but also it can function as a traditional pen).
once you put the book on the black panel tablet mode “book” (the book is the same size as the panel), you can start writing with normal and everything is automatically digitizes very accurately. even the system was able to detect very accurately the location of panel that was writing, despite placing more than one book and even my hand in the middle.
like other Yoga Lenovo devices, the Lenovo Yoga Book can be folded in kiosk mode, tablet and traditional way.
Even the Lenovo Yoga Book is so thin and light that turn it completely in tablet mode, the device looks almost like a regular book, and thanks to its touch screen can use it fluently.
