SpaceX rocket launch scheduled for Saturday – The Universal

The company Space Exploration Technologies will try again on Saturday to launch the rocket Falcon 9 with a cargo pod to the at International Space Station (EEI) and then the ship lands on a platform in the ocean, executives said Wednesday.

SpaceX, as known to the company, planned to launch the rocket from Cape Canaveral on Tuesday. But less than two minutes after launch, a computer has detected a problem with the system that drives the upper stage engines and aborted the mission .

The motor positions the Dragon capsule in the right orbit to reach and engage the station, a space lab 100 billion dollars flying 418 miles above Earth.

The launch was scheduled for Friday, but SpaceX decided he needed another day to prepare the rocket, said NASA in a statement. SpaceX declined to provide further details.

NASA, which pays 1,600 million to SpaceX for 12 cargo missions to the ISS, said the launch is now scheduled for 0947 GMT on Saturday.

After separation of the upper stages, about 2.5 minutes after launch, the rocket unprecedented attempt a landing on a floating platform in the Atlantic Ocean , off the coast of Florida.

If successful, the test will be an important step in the search for SpaceX to develop rockets that can be rebuilt and re-launch.

The main purpose of the flight is to deliver the cargo to t he ISS, a space lab 100 billion orbiting Earth. The capsule is loaded with more than 2000 313 kilos of food, supplies and equipment.
