Dogs process language in different areas of the brain – Terra Peru

Dogs use the same areas of the brain to process human language, he discovered a team of scientists.

Dogs process words with the left hemisphere, and interpret the tone with the right hemisphere, according to a study published in the journal Science.

They found that dogs identified that are complimenting them only when the words and tone match, resulting in activity in both brain areas.

This seems to confirm what many had long believed owners: man’s best friend cares what we say and how we say it.

The findings suggest that the ability of dogs to process language evolved earlier than previously believed initially said the chief investigator Attila Andics an expert in animal behavior Eotvos Lorand University in Hungary.

What makes it unique human communication is the invention of words said Andics, and not the ability to process them.
