A partial lunar eclipse will be visible from Spain on Thursday - CNN

Madrid. (Europa Press). – This Thursday April 25th will be a eclipse partial Moon which can be seen throughout the country. Only 2% of the satellite is in the shadow cone of the Earth, ie only notice a slight dark area in the upper left of the Moon.

Thus, although it can be seen with the naked eye, experts recommend the use of binoculars for more detail of the event. As explained by the astrophysicist and head of Teaching Science Museum and the Cosmos (Tenerife), Oswaldo Gonzalez, in his blog Galaxies and Centellas, a lunar eclipse occurs when this, in its monthly rotation around the earth, is introduced within the shadow cast by the planet in space.

This can only happen when the Moon is in the opposite direction to the Sun, being in its full phase. Thus, if the satellite is fully inserted in the shadow, the eclipse is total, but only makes a portion of the lunar disk will be a partial eclipse, as in this case.

As

observation mode, Gonzalez has indicated that simply have to wait for the sunset will occur around 21:30 hours (GMT). Between 21.54 and 22:21, will take place on eclipse partial, being at 22:08 the time of greatest obscuration.
