Galaxy S6 without the expected success – El Nuevo Diario

The best smartphone Samsung cataloged, which was supposed to break up with sales prospects “as the cell of the future” has not had much impact on the market. So explain figures leaked by a senior manager of the company to the South Korean Yonhap News Agency.

“Samsung has sold only 10 million units of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Much less than expected. The S6 was to be a commercial blockbuster, but the reality is that no S5 exceeds the sales, “revealed the source.

The South Korean company has so far made no official mention of the figures published by Yonhap. If the numbers were true, Samsung would have the following situation: the Galaxy S4 took only 27 days to reach 10 million units; Galaxy S5 only 25. If you take a date the day before the publication of the data, Yonhap, one would be talking of 38 days for the Galaxy S6 reached the same figure of 10 million units, analysis is very worrying for the company.

Samsung predicted to sell around 50 million Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge during 2015 and thus would be positioned as the most successful duo in the history of the Galaxy line, but then Samsung confident that sales would exceed 50 million.

These expectations were declared in March to The Korea Times, by a Samsung executive, who said the company would plan to sell more than 70 million Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, though not made clear whether that goal would be only until the end of 2015 or a little more.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge went on sale on April 10, 7 months after the global commercial launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (September 19, 2014). This period was too much for the Galaxy. Apple sold 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in three days. Samsung Galaxy the same amount of S6 and S6 Edge in 38 days.

Samsung is carrying problems that lead to low sales. In S5 the design was flawed, away from the Premium iPhone experience or even other Android rivals. “Samsung has taken too long to react. If the S6 and S6 Edge Galaxy had arrived just a year earlier, on April 10, 2014 but now would be talking about very different sales figures, “said Guizmodo, in an article on the subject.
