The unpredictable death of the genius of game theory, John Nash – The Financial

mathematical , winner Nobel Prize in Economics in 1994 and whose problems were terrible schizophrenia, John Nash , died along with his wife in a traffic accident last Saturday in New Jersey . The couple was traveling in a taxi when the driver lost control and crashed into a fence.

Nash , 86, and his wife Alice , 82, were thrown from the car and were pronounced dead at the spot of the accident, spokesman of the State Police of New Jersey, Sergeant Gregory Williams, who declined to comment on media reports that said they were not wearing seatbelt positions.

Nash won the Nobel Prize in Economics for their contributions to game theory, which offered ideas on the dynamics of human rivalry. Just last week Nash received an award from the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in Oslo, together with the mathematician at the University of New York Louis Nirenberg .

born on June 13, 1928 in Bluefield, Virginia, USA. He graduated in mathematics in 1948 at the Carnegie Institute of Technology. In 1949, while preparing for his doctorate, he wrote the article for which he would be awarded five decades later with the Nobel Prize . In 1950 he obtained his doctorate with a thesis called “ Non-Cooperative Games “. His contributions revolutionized partial differential equations chemistry, biology, physics and finance.
