Spotify announces videos, podcasts and improvements in the charts – LaTercera (Record)

Considering the obvious importance of streaming music industry, the decline in sales of physical disks and the imminent arrival of music services YouTube and Apple, Spotify decided to step beyond today announced enhancements to its interface and the way we listen to music.

One of them is the improvement in the music library, a feature that search and select songs depending on time of day, instead of waiting for us to do. Thus, it will be more accessible and customizable, with a redesigned smartphones and giving the possibility of listening radio, podcasts and video interface, grouping all the content as if it were a playlist.

Speaking of podcasts, its success in the US, where ever they are more profitable, it has made that also have their place in the new application. They will differ from those in iTunes (where you might find some extinct programs) with updated and easy to discover content.

The other big announcement has to do with the videos. In this case, it is “capsules” that deliver content from sources such as BBC, The Nerdist, ABC, NBC, Adult Swim, ESPN, Comedy Central or Vice, hoping eventually add more participants. However, nothing was talk of a new musical Netflix or lists of videos like YouTube, something that many presaged.

This tool will add other original programs Spotify, with productions of conversation with artists, interviews today , live, microdocumentaries and others.

Finally, new platform will also integrate with the runners. The system will monitor your steps and depending on your pace will offer songs about both your playlist as playlists created especially for this purpose.

The new update will be available now in the US, UK, Germany and Sweden today, coming to the world in the coming weeks.
