Facebook can recognize in the pictures even without seeing your face – Context

The developer of the world’s largest social network has begun testing a system capable of recognizing people in the pictures, if they are not looking incuso to the camera, according to the journal “New Scientist”.

This algorithm can indentificar users based on a series of features and details previously stored after collection of historic photos published previously.

So, Facebook’s algorithm will identify, if begins to expand, hairstyles, clothes, posture and body shapes of the users, which can uncover doubts about the interference of social networks in the lives of people. This system will have a 83% accuracy, according to preliminary investigations.

Facebook takes time striving to improve facial recognition systems despite the doubts of the organisms for data protection. Its technology has even been banned in Europe for five years.

However, company sources say that this system ensures the privacy of users because it can be used as an alert if someone posts a photo without our permission.

Recently, the US company launched Facebook Moments, an application for mobile devices that enables you to collect images in a user function appears in the photos posted by your contacts. But it is not the only company with similar technologies. Google and Apple have also recently revamped its image storage services with face recognition functions.
