Google Play enters the world of free streaming radio – El Universal (Venezuela)

Users who do not subscribe to Google Play have free access to the same radio but with advertising.

The service is available on Android and Apple phones.

This new online radio service comes to compete directly with other Internet radio like Pandora or Sirius XM, but also streaming music services like Spotify or paying Apple Music Service, presented earlier month by the Apple brand.

Keeping in mind the recent conflict between Apple and singer Taylor Swift on the conditions of remuneration of artists in his new streaming service, Google made it clear that the artists whose Music is transmitted in its new online radio, receive a payment.

This Radio “offers a new way to find music that matches them — and (gives) to the artists another opportunity to receive compensation” Google said on its official blog.
