Tomorrow will see the Blue Moon last until 2018 – Los Andes (Argentina)

It is always magical enjoy Moon on any of their faces, but look for blue color is a phenomenon that occurs every three years and hopefully this Friday 31 July we will have this great opportunity.

The latest Blue Moon was on 31 August 2012 and so we will not contemplate until 31 January 2018.

Blue Moon is the second known moon that occurs within the same month in the Gregorian calendar. L July first full moon occurred on day 2, the next will come the 31. Although it may seem common it is not, because this happens every three years.

The origin of this phenomenon is the difference between our calendar and lunar, while our months can last between 28 and 31 days depending on the month and year.

While, in the case of the lunar months, the cycle is always about 29.5 days. So it is not surprising that from time to time, match two full moons in the same month.

The blue color is due to a concentration of particles from volcanic eruptions and phenomena or Smoke (major forest fires, for example).
