Amazon shows what their drone to product delivery – The Nacional.com

Amazon continues to develop its product delivery system through drones, and now the company launched a commercial showing the latest version of its delivery vehicle.

The commercial, starring Jeremy Clarkson (former animator Top Gear and you will soon have a new program in the Amazon video service), shows a scenario where a family needs to buy a pair of boots urgently. Using the application of Amazon, are purchased at the online store and are delivered through a drone and “Prime Air” system.

As described Clarkson, the drone has the ability to rise up to 120 meters height and fly up to 24 kilometers. It also has a technology to “detect and avoid” obstacles in the air and on land.

Amazon indicates that once in the air, the buyer will receive a notification alerting the imminent arrival of the product. The drone scans the landing area, looking for a logo that acts as an indicator Amazon, leaving the pack on the same.

Clarkson indicates that this just one of the designs that the company is developing for “different environments. ” The problem facing the company is that there is still no regulation that allows the use of this equipment for deliveries, so no date for the implementation of this system.
