Videos Online reached Spotify – lagranepoca

The leader of online music Spotify said on Monday it will release video content, as part of its strategy to build an audience itself in this competitive market.

The Swedish company will begin its video production late next year for Android and iPhone smartphones, Spotify spokesman said. The videos will be available initially in Germany, Britain, the United States and Sweden.

The CEO Daniel Ek Spotify announced entry to the online video market last May, during an event in New York on future plans of the company, without specifying dates.

Then Spotify said it would offer exclusive content to its partners in the media, podcasts productions and services. Major television networks in the US, the BBC, the leader in sports ESPN, Vice portal documentaries and comedy channel Adult Swim are among those interested in this new service Spotify.

Spotify, as leader of streaming a rapidly growing sector, revindica have more than 75 million regular users, of which 20 million paid subscriptions for service without advertising.

Other smaller rivals invested heavily in video online. Apple Music, which launched in June, recently offered an exclusive film on a tour of the superestrela Pop Taylor Swift.

While Tidal, rapper Jay Z, went further by offering exclusive series online TV; and online content giant YouTube recently released its music streaming service that allows you to switch videos and audio files only.
