Andy Grove died, pioneer of personal computers – Clarín.com

Andy Grove, pioneer of personal computers , who was president and CEO of Intel and led that company’s leadership in its sector, died on Monday at age 79, said the company.

“Andy made the impossible possible, again and again, and inspired generations of technology experts, entrepreneurs and business leaders,” said the current CEO of Intel, Brian Krzanich in the website of the company

Intel did not indicate the cause of death, but Grove took several years battling Parkinson’s disease.

Andy Grove was born in Hungary, where lived the Nazi occupation and Soviet repression , and he came to the United States in 1956.

Intel already was when the company was founded in 1968, and in 1987 became its executive director. Between 1997 and 2005 he was chairman of the board.

During his tenure the annual income of Intel spent 1,900 million to about 26,000 , the company said.

“Andy Grove was one of the giants in the world of technology. He loved our country and represented the best of America,” said director Apple, Tim Cook after learning of his death.
