Dies PC pioneer, Andy Grove – Milenio.com

The former president and former CEO of Intel, Andy Grove, a pioneer of personal computers led his company to become a leader in its sector, died at age 79, the company said.

” Andy made the impossible possible, again and again, and inspired generations of experts in technology , entrepreneurs and business leaders, “said the current CEO of Intel, Brian Krzanich, on the web the company.

Intel did not indicate the cause of death but Grove had spent several years fighting Parkinson’s disease.

Andy Grove, born in Hungary, where the Nazi occupation and repression lived Soviet, came to America in 1956.

He was already in Intel when the company was founded in 1968, and in 1987 became its executive director. Between 1997 and 2005 was president of the board.

During his tenure the annual income of Intel rose from 1.900 million to about 26,000, the company said.

Under his leadership Intel developed microprocessors such as the 386 or Pentium that marked the evolution of personal computers.

“Andy Grove was one of the giants of the world technology . He loved our country and represented the best of America, “said Apple chief Tim Cook after learning of his death.
