Twitter is opposed to file tweets – CCM

Twitter has removed Politwoops and Diplotwoops accounts, dedicated to archive tweets deleted by politicians.

The news leaked after Twitter communicate its decision to the Open State Foundation, an organization that promotes transparency in the network. According to officials of the popular network microblogging , the decision was taken after a “thoughtful internal deliberation and careful consideration of many factors.”

With this move, Twitter tweet prevents becoming “something immutable and irrevocable” and defends the right of its members to retract and remove your old messages. “No user the ability deserves more than another. In fact, delete tweets is an expression of the user’s voice”, justified by the fact that, this time, are defending the rights of political and diplomatic.

For its part, the Open State Foundation criticized the decision as they feel that, being elected, what politicians say in public must also be registered publicly.

The two accounts affected, Diplotwoops Politwoops and have been eliminated in the thirty countries in which they operated.

It is not the first time that Twitter generated controversy for its decisions about which messages or delete profiles. Recently he announced that, in an attempt to protect intellectual property, tweets eliminate those that had been plagiarized without citing the original author. In fact, they have even emerged as Quitter competitors with the same pattern of publication, but take pride in allowing its users to publish uncensored messages.
