Windows 10 has been installed in over 75 million devices – Globovisión

The US technology firm Microsoft said today that more than 75 million devices have installed the latest update to its Windows 10 operating system since its debut a little less than a month.

“More than 75 million devices using Windows 10 and growing each day,” he said in his account of the social network Twitter Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of Windows at Microsoft groups and devices.

The executive also said that Windows 10 is now operating in 192 countries, “virtually every country on the planet” and said the Cortana digital assistant has received over half a million jokes in response to the indication users “dime a joke “.

The technology company offered the update of the operating system for free at the end of July, with the goal of 1,000 million users of Windows 10 over the next three years.

A total of 14 million devices installed the operating system in the 24 hours after its launch on July 29.

Among the new features in Windows 10 is the new browser Edge and the computer version of Cortana, the wizard equivalent of Google Now and Siri, Apple’s voice.

Cortana can not only respond to user questions, open applications and take notes, but “has a sense of mood “and is able to tell jokes.

Windows 10 reintroduced the Start menu (Start) through which users can access the applications and functions they use most and had disappeared in the previous update from the unpopular Windows 8.

Windows 10 operating system also provides the option to rearrange and resize the icons.

In addition, users have the option of accessing their devices by facial recognition, iris or fingerprint, thereby avoiding having to enter passwords.

Microsoft said in April it expects to enter about 15,000 million dollars this year from the sale of Windows.

The company collects fees from computer manufacturers who install Windows on their new devices, and also earns revenue by selling its software to large companies and organizations.
