A team of physicists from Michigan Technological University has conducted a study to find time travelers through social networks like Facebook or Twitter.

The experts selected search terms related to two recent events, the election of Pope Francisco approach to the Sun and the comet ISON, and began to search the Internet for references to the latest official information.

To do this, they developed a search strategy based on what they call the “prophetic knowledge”, ie, find a mention of something or about a topic on the network that is earlier than time that information reached the people. In his view, this could indicate that whoever wrote it would have traveled from the future.

“The work has been thorough,” noted physicist, who said that a variety of search engines , such as Google and Bing was used to comb the comments entered on Facebook and Twitter during certain period of time.

Thus, they have found that in the case of Comet ISON there were indications before the rock was discovered in September 2012.

As for the Pope, as has team explained on the website of the university, one was found a blog post that references a potato Francisco was chosen as head of the Catholic Church 16 March but, in his view, was more accidental than prophetic .

“Unfortunately, the invitation went unanswered,” he pointed the scientist who conducted the study on their own, without subsidies.
