Prepare to see eclipse with ‘superluna blood’ – Digital Journal Juarez

The last total lunar eclipse of 2015 will be seen in full in the border region, but for lovers of astronomy El Paso Community College (EPC), through its Observatory on Campus Green Valley, invites the community to witness the celestial phenomenon from its facilities with explanations provided by specialists in space, and a series of telescopes that have been assembled for this purpose.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the phenomenon that can be seen all over the country this September 27th is known as “blood Supermoon”. It occurs when the shadow of the Earth transits on the TV and, since the atmosphere blocks in different degrees of light rays, the Earth image shows diffuse, increasing the shape and size of the satellite will be in the full moon phase .

NASA claims that the celestial phenomenon of “Supermoon” combined with the lunar eclipse has not been fully since 1982. This combination not repeated until 2033.

“Once again we will have an event to see the lunar eclipse on Sunday,” said James Heiney spokesman EPCC. “Since I started the gloom in the sky until the end of the eclipse we will have specialists speaking on the subject, and addressing the concerns that the community may have, the invitation has been extended to all and of course there is no cost to use the telescopes and attend, “he added.

Traditionally the EPCC has opened the doors of his observatory, sometimes like tonight, in order to guide stakeholders on the best way to see the phenomenon and understand its dimensions.

The penumbra, which is the phase where you can see the obstruction of the land on the lunar surface, will be from 6:12 pm, but visibility is not even visible to the naked eye, because the moon will still be below the horizon.

At 6:52 PM the eclipse and will be visible in the border region, but only with telescopes , same that will be available in the EPCC Valle Verde Campus.

A short time later, at 7:07 PM, the eclipse will be seen without special equipment, and 8:11 will be total, its greater fullness at 8:47 PM.

10:27 PM the sky show is complete and visibility to the naked eye.

“It’s the last total eclipse moon of the year, and while weather conditions permit we are ready to welcome our visitors, “said Heiney.
