These are the changes that will make Twitter – The Financial

Twitter said Tuesday it will change some of its rules regarding the counting of the 140 character tweets, as many times users can be confused and crazy new users of the social network.

So, you get more in the coming months, your characters when writing a tweet, changes are as follows:

• When answering a tweet, the ‘@name’ , ie the username on Twitter, and will not be included in the count of 140 characters. This will facilitate conversations on Twitter and make the most direct and easy chat.

• When you add files to a tweet, such as photos, GIFs, videos, surveys or tweets mentioned, this content will not affect the count of 140 characters .

• Twitter will activate the ‘retweet’ button on your own tweets so you can easily retweet or make a quoted tweet yours for when you want to share a new thought or if you feel that a very good message went unnoticed .

• Twitter eliminate. ‘@’, so that the tweets are visible to everyone. If you want an answer to be displayed by all followers, you can retweet to have a greater reach.

Still, the company based in San Francisco has struggled to expand and retain their base of around 310 million monthly active users, which has been doing most necessary changes.

“This is a part of our ongoing strategy to improve our iconic product,” said Marketing Director Leslie Berland.

last week, Bloomberg reported that links also soon cease to count against the character limit, according to people familiar with the matter.

“we are always and will continue to seek ways to refine the experience,” Berland said, declining to comment on specifications.
