Twitter studies give more space to pictures and links – Voice of America

The company may be looking for an increase in users among people who mostly communicate through photos, videos and links.

Twitter plans to let its users to post links or photos without the 140-character limit set by the social network, reported Bloomberg.

The change could occur in late May, according to a Bloomberg report that cited a source close to the matter. Twitter, however, declined to comment.

Analysts say flexilizar the limit of 140 characters (originating in messaging mobile phones) could increase the use of social network, as more and more people communicate through photos, videos and links.

currently Twitter use shorteners links to reduce images and links that the users want to share but each link is 23 characters, implying that tweets with two or three links do not have enough space for a short sentence. The same happens with the photos.

The removal of the limit for links, photos and videos make much sense because in addition to allowing the user to include some content sharing platform, would help Twitter to sell more advertising . because the character limit also applies to promotional tweets
