Good news for users of Twitter has been revealed today, as the company is considering to stop counting in 140 characters links and images that users use and considerably shorten them space for their publications, reports Bloomberg.

Although still the company has not confirmed anything about it, according to the aforementioned source by Bloomberg, this implementation could begin to set in in just two weeks on the social network.

remember that some years ago Twitter started automatically shorten links users but had not always happened that way. That is why offering services like Bit.ly to shorten links popularized among others.

The company adopted the form of 140 characters during its opening in 2006 as it sought to have a relationship with the old SMS (text messages) that were used in those years, which had a total of 160 characters. However, after the advent of smartphones, it increased the possibility for users to write a larger number of letters and unfortunately that space has shrunk them.

Although the change is not yet official, it seems much more likely to occur than the rumor that was circulating earlier this year which claimed that the social network would write with a total of 10,000 characters.
