Filtered images of a new flexible screen developed by Xiaomi: is it true? – The Voice of Interior

In the world of mobile devices, the implementation of flexible screens is one of the great longings of the manufacturers. Firms such as LG and Samsung have already experimented with this type of feature in their respective lines Flex and the Edge, although technically it is display curved, with no possibility of bending.

A new leak published on the social network Baidu ensures that Xiaomi could be the first to launch a Smartphone equipped with a screen that can bend. Two renders reveal a development of this type, running a version of Android with the UI of the brand to china.

The news was lifted quickly by the specialized site PhoneArena, although, judging by the photographs, there are to take with tweezers its veracity.

The grounds for suspicion are based essentially on the absence of a phone per se, since they only see a screen similar to a sheet. However, both images show different icons on the screen and even a different schedule, so, effectively, it could be a display in operation.

Until now, developments of this type had been faced with caution as they represent an over-expenditure for manufacturers of mobile devices. Both Samsung as LG have been featured in several opportunities, the high costs associated with this type of accessory, even when they are produced in their own plants, which a priori should lower the total value.
