Facebook has launched an app known as Rooms , which gives the opportunity for discussions on a topic or subject of interest without using our real name and serving only a nick. Rooms retrieves the mysterious spirit of chat rooms for mobile devices where we could wander about anything with strangers for hours , but also gives the possibility to customize the appearance of these areas, give them a name and choose who to invite. Inside the rooms you can send text, photos, videos and comments from members.

Note that to use Rooms is no account required Facebook , not even an email account. The application uses an innovative invitations via QR codes in which people make a picture or a screenshot of the code room to access it. Each ‘room’ has its own living and moderator, which can be any group.

The app has been developed by Josh Miller and his team of Branch, a company that acquired the social network in January. Miller says that Rooms has in common with Secret and other rivals look to share anonymous, however, can also serve to support reading clubs, political discussions, sports enthusiasts communities or technology or even facilitate the construction of collaborative projects in subjects like art or poetry.

Rooms is available in App Store for users in the USA, UK and other English-speaking countries. The Android version will arrive in early 2015.
