Six large solar flares in eight days – TeleCinco.es

The solar activity has entered a flurry of activity in recent days. In most sunspot registered for 24 years, and have produced six flares in the last eight days. The latest came last Sunday, October 26, classified as a flare type “X2,” according to NASA.

An active sunspot erupted on Sunday 26 October, being the sixth flare recorded since last 19 Octobers this year. This flare was classified with type “X2″, which peaked at 11:56 GMT point, according to information from NASA through the data collected by the SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory).

This is the third flare with the classification “X” in 48 hours from the largest sunspot recorded for 24 years. This classification “X” is given to the most intense solar flares, with the “X2″ twice the intensity as an “X” and so with increasing intensity. These flares could cause GPS problems in people when, in addition to other devices produce, although its impact on people is virtually nonexistent.
