Twitter gives characters; there will be GIFs, videos, photos, and retweets – CNET in Spanish

The social network on Monday announced that starting today it will no longer have the pictures, videos, GIFs, emojis and surveys as characters, so you can use your 140 characters to explayarte writing your tweet. Among the most important changes is that, when a user retweeting the tweet of someone else, the characters of the tweet retuiteado not count, so the user is free to use his quota of 140 characters to compose a new tweet.

Twitter announced these changes in may when it also said it planned to eliminate the need to put a dot before the at sign in the name of a user that all the followers could see the conversation. The point of allowing such a tweet is shared with all followers of a given account, and not only with the recipient.
