The Soyuz spacecraft with astronauts relay reaches the station ... - The Mundo.es

Russian Soyuz spacecraft has successfully completed its journey and has docked at the International Space Station (ISS for its acronym in English) on 04.45 (GMT) on Thursday . That’s when the floodgates opened and the ISS carrying three crew members on board who will be able to enter their home for the next six months.

“The coupling took place at the scheduled time, six hours after launch and in automatic mode. Fortunately, it took the intervention of cosmonauts to switch to manual mode,” said the Russian space agency spokesman Roscosmo, quoted by state news agency RIA Novosti.

mission 37 is composed of the Russian Oleg Kotov and Sergei Riazanski and NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins. Oleg Kotov is the only one with prior spatial experience , specifically in two missions, while for his peers is his first spaceflight.

“I feel very fortunate to be the first in my class to be launched into space,” said Hopkins release to the media before. “I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of my classmates in a future space launch,” he added.
