The group of hackers said on Twitter: “Microsoft will receive a wonderful Christmas gift us. ”

A Christmas troubled about Microsoft and Sony for attacks on their consoles online services Xbox Live and PlayStation, respectively, which prevented users connect games.

A group of hackers calling itself “Lizard Squad” was responsible for the disruption of services during the festive period.

This Saturday Xbox Live page suggested that Microsoft services already resumed.

Meanwhile, PlayStation noted on Twitter that some services were operational again and thanked users for their patience.

Online services came under a denial of service or DDoS (for their soglas in English), a technique that floods objectives with high traffic making them unusable.

The hackers who use the name of Lizard Squad have attacked video game companies before.

But who are they and what can be your next step?

“Because we can”

An alleged hacker Lizard Squad, a young man of 22 years who called Member Two, just simply say that the group had attacked the sites “because we can” do it.

Lizard Squad is very active in Twitter.

Earlier this month a branch different from Sony, Sony Pictures Entertainment, was the victim of a cyber attack that included the theft of a large amount of information from their servers.

In April Last year, four British hackers responsible for about cyber attacks in 2011 were sentenced to prison.

Ryan Cleary, Jake Davis, Mustafa al-Bassam and Ryan Ackroyd were part of Lulzsec group that attacked several sites, including Sony Pictures, News International, the CIA and the British agency against organized crime.

The following month, Australian police arrested a 24 year old who proclaimed himself as the leader of the group of hackers.
