US Court dismisses lawsuit against Google to limit … – The Universe

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit accusing Google of harming clients smartphones, to force manufacturers of mobile devices using Android operating system to have as default applications themselves search engine.

Consumers claimed that Google demanded that companies like Samsung favored in applications such as Youtube Android phones and restrict my rivals like Microsoft search engine, Bing.

They claimed that this increased illegally prices of smartphones because rivals could not compete with the “space on the main screen” enjoying Google applications.

But in a decision taken on Friday, US District Judge Beth Freeman LABSON San Jose, California, I said consumers had not been able to show that the rise in prices derive from a decision by Google to illegally force restrictive contracts with manufacturers of mobile devices.

The judge gave the plaintiffs three weeks to modify their claims under antitrust law and competition law State of California.

Robert Lopez, plaintiff’s attorney, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Aaron Stein, Google spokesman declined to comment.

Google also faces charges of antitrust practices in Europe.
