Apple sued for iPhone function increases invoice – FORTUNE

CALIFORNIA, USA (EFE) – The technology company Apple is facing a class action by a new feature of the iPhone smartphone that allows phones to connect to the data plan when the wireless signal is weak.

The plaintiffs, Scott Phillips and Suzanne Schmidt of Florida, raised a class action before the District Court in San Jose, California, to object to his phone bill skyrocketed because of this new feature of the iPhone.

Philips and Schmidt say the US company should pay the costs of this bill and those of other users with similar problems, the cost of which allegedly amount to five million dollars.

The lawsuit, which was filed last Friday, leaked to the media on Monday, and the text is published in full in the Scribd website.

The function in question, Wi-Fi Assist, makes connecting to the mobile data plan when the wireless internet signal is weak, which has provoked complaints from users with limited calling plans, which as bills soar beyond that limit.

The company based in Cupertino, California, has yet to comment on the lawsuit, although he published this month in the web guidance on the Wi-Fi Assist in warning that the telephone bill could increased if this function is not disabled.
